Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data UptimePilot handles when you use our website, web app and Android app, why we handle it, and the choices and rights you have. We have written it with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it in mind.
Who we are
UptimePilot is an uptime monitoring service. For this policy, UptimePilot decides why and how your personal data is processed. You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@uptimepilot.app.
What we collect and why
We only collect what we need to run the service. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Monitors can contain information you choose to put in them (for example credentials in request headers). Please only add what a check genuinely needs.
Why we are allowed to use it
Most processing is needed to provide the service you signed up for — creating your account, running your monitors and sending the alerts you configure. When you create an account you give us this data for that purpose. If we ever want to use your data for something optional (such as marketing emails), we will ask separately, and you will be able to withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it. We do not currently run any optional processing of that kind.
Who we share it with
We use service providers who process data on our behalf to run UptimePilot:
- Hosting and database providers — store your account, monitors and check history.
- Google — when you choose "Continue with Google" (sign-in) and for Android push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Email delivery provider — to send alert and account emails.
- Google Play — distributes the Android app; Google handles app-store and any in-app purchase data under its own policies.
Checks themselves contact the URLs and hosts you configure. We may also disclose data where required by law.
Processing outside India
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside India. When that happens we rely on providers with appropriate security safeguards, and we will follow any restrictions the Government of India places on such transfers.
Keeping your data safe
- All traffic to the website, app and API is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never in readable form.
- Access to your monitors and data is restricted to your account.
- You can view your active sessions and sign out of all devices from Settings.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.
If there is a data breach
If a breach affects your personal data, we will investigate, take steps to contain it, and inform you and the Data Protection Board of India where the law requires, including what happened, the likely impact and what you can do. To report a suspected security issue, email support@uptimepilot.app.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Access — a summary of the personal data we hold about you. You can also download a copy yourself from Settings → Privacy & data.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and personal data (some records may be kept where the law requires, such as tax or payment records).
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity.
Send requests from your account email to support@uptimepilot.app, from Settings in the app, or via the account deletion page. We may ask you to confirm your identity and will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the period the law requires.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in, the web app stores your sign-in tokens in your browser's storage so you stay signed in (local storage if you choose "Remember me", otherwise session storage that is cleared when you close the tab). Signing out removes them.
Children
UptimePilot is a tool for developers and businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy we change the version and date above. For material changes we will let account holders know by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
